Gurupurnima reflects the importance of teachers and the selfless imparting of wisdom and knowledge by them. Guru Purnima traces its roots back to the Vedic era. The word itself has its roots in Sanskrit language, were 'gu' means darkness and 'ru' is the removal of darkness.
On 16th July ’19, the Principal, teachers, staff & students celebrated the auspicious day of Guru Purnima with great reverence and devotion.
A special assembly was conducted, marked by the floral tribute by teachers and students to guru Veda Vyasa in ritualistic respect of guru puja. The program started with the shloka“Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwar”.
As the Guru Purnima is the day to felicitate gurus for they are the ones who prepare students to take on the onerous task of nation building. We are highly obliged to all gurus for shouldering this tremendous responsibility and so to convey the message 'To teachers, with Love'students of Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Pharmacy celebrates Guru Purnima to offer tribute to their preceptors for uncovering the potential and purpose of their lives. Further, it is also a tradition in the institute to felicitate an eminent educationist who have rendered there invaluable service to the institution.
This year, on July 16, it was our privilege to honour Dr. S. V. Deshpande Principal, all teaching staff. For the teachers who had completed a large time span.It was indeed a heart-warming experience to be felicitated by their student.In the presence of dignitaries like Principal sir, Academic incharge Mrs. Bhavana Kapse, along with them Ms. Nileema Modhave, Mrs. Amruta Patil, Ms. Varsha Dhulasawnt, Mrs. Nitu Fulambarkar and Ms. Arati A. Patil. Students put their priceless emotions and views in respect with their teachers. Also, the Student Council gifted a moneyplant and a rose to all teachers as a token of their reverence and gratitude for showing them the right path.
